ISTR®

ISTR® (In Situ Targeted Remediation) is a new soil remediation concept developed by In-Situ Technieken. ISTR® is a targeted remediation solution for a large number of compounds for which previously no efficient solution was available. By adjusting and/or improving (proven) innovative techniques or combining existing techniques it has now become possible to tackle these compounds.

ISTR® is not aimed at the usual contaminations such as mineral oil, perchloroethene or BTEX. It is especially meant to remediate the less common monomers and solvents, which are still being produced and used in large quantities in the chemical industry.

In-Situ Technieken specialises in carrying out such in situ remediations. For substances such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), styrene, carbon disulfide (CS2) and 1,4-dioxane very cost-effective solutions have been developed, with proven results in full-scale remediations.

Substances included in the ISTR® programme

Within the ISTR® programme, remediation solutions have been developed for over 25 environmentally harmful substances. The ISTR® programme is still being developed intensively, and the number of substances for which a remediation solution has been found, is continuously increasing.

If for a certain compound a ready-made solution is not available yet, it is quite possible that this substance is included in the ISTR® programme. Please feel free to contact us, so that we can offer you a solution for your contamination problem.
